How we verify promotions
What we check before publishing a promotion, what we leave out and what each Giveario listing flags.
What it means when a promotion is on Giveario
Every listing starts from the promotion's official rules or the organizer's terms, which we read before publishing. The listing summarizes the essentials and links those sources so you can check any detail yourself. Organizers can change conditions, and the rules always take precedence over our summary.
What we check before publishing
- Who runs the promotion and that there is an official entry page.
- The start and closing dates, in the time zone stated in the rules.
- The territory, the minimum age and any exclusions.
- What the prize is, how many people win and how winners are chosen.
- Whether you must buy something, accept commercial messages or be a customer.
- That there is a free and direct way to enter, without paying to take part.
What we do not publish
We do not publish promotions without readable rules, paid raffles, betting, draws whose prize depends on donations, or campaigns without an identifiable organizer. If an important detail cannot be confirmed clearly, we leave it out or do not publish the promotion.
What each listing flags
We show a required purchase, consent to commercial messages, whether the promotion is for customers only, and the closing date with its time zone. Each listing says when it was reviewed.
Limits of this verification
Giveario does not run the giveaways, receive entries, choose winners or guarantee prizes. We verify the information published, not the organizer's conduct afterwards. For more on our approach, see the editorial policy.
If you find a mistake
Write to us from the contact page with the listing URL and the official source that supports the correction. We correct what can be confirmed and remove promotions that can no longer be verified.
